Owlerton turns red for charity

Reading Time: < 1 min

Owlerton Greyhound Stadium is all set to turn red by taking part in a national campaign to raise funds for research into heart and circulatory disease. Yorkshire’s leading greyhound track is joining forces with the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) ‘Wear it. Beat it.’ initiative which takes place on Friday 6 February.

Any customers who come dressed for the evening race meet on 6 February all in red will get free entry and a race card. In addition, staff will wear red and make a donation to the charity. John Gilburn, managing director of Owlerton Greyhound Stadium, said: “It’s great for our staff to take part in this special campaign which touches the lives of so many people across the country. We also hope our loyal customers will join in the fun and come dressed in red to show their support. BHF is a fantastic charity doing great work so we are delighted to help in any way we can.”

For over 50 years BHF has pioneered research that’s transformed the lives of people living with heart and circulatory conditions. The charity’s ‘Wear It. Beat It.’ campaign is asking the nation to show its support by wearing red and hosting an event to fund lifesaving research.
