At Owlerton Stadium we have a dedicated and
experienced team.

 

  • Dave Perry – Venue Director

    Dave has been with the company since leaving school at 16, where he also worked part time for Napoleons Racing.

    Since working at Owlerton, Dave’s career at Owlerton has progressed significantly as he worked his way up through the ranks into a senior managerial role.

    Since working at the Stadium, Dave has held a number of key positions including, Racing Office Assistant, Safety Steward, Assistant Racing Manager, Racing Manager, Assistant General Manager, General Manager before being promoted in 2019 to the role of Venue Director.

    Dave’s current role finds him responsible for the overall running of the stadium.

  • Matt Hamilton – General Manager

    Matt has worked for Owlerton since 2004 where he began his career as a Part-time Safety Steward. Matt was quickly promoted to Steward Supervisor which then ultimately resulted in Matt being promoted to Stadium Safety Officer and Health and Safety Manager a few years later.

    In 2016 an opportunity arose for Matt to become the Assistant General Manager of which he took and in 2019 he was promoted to General Manager.

    Outside of work Matt spends the majority of his time with his Family and companion Milo, the Border Collie.

  • Richard Allsop – Assistant General Manager

    Richard originally joined Josephine’s Nightclub part of the A&S leisure group in January 1990, where he worked until October 2001 until the club was sold. Richard rejoined the company in late 2001 as Assistant Bar Manager and has since worked his way up through the ranks, firstly as Bar Manager, then Duty Manager before finally being promoted in 2019 to Assistant General Manager.

    When he isn’t working he is a keen Golfer and also a qualified Scuba Diver.

  • Lisa Campbell – Tote Manager

    Having completed a comprehensive management training programme at Whitbread’s, Lisa went on to train Trainee Managers for 7 years, before leaving the company to start a family.

    Lisa joined the Owlerton team in 1992, working part time on the Tote, before progressing to Tote Supervisor. In 2003 Lisa became the Tote Manager, and the first female manager in the history of the Stadium, a title of which she is extremely proud.

    According to Lisa, coordinating the Tote can be a very intense job, however with the help of a fantastic team she finds it very enjoyable. Despite a busy work schedule, Lisa still finds time to enjoy a spot of retail therapy and to spend time with her family.

  • Nick Middleton – Catering Manager

    Nick has been with the company since leaving school at 16. Since then, he has risen up through the ranks to the position of Head Chef/Catering Manager at Owlerton. His love for food and his passion for the job are evident in the menus he prepares for Owlerton’s customers.

    His role includes overseeing the smooth running of the restaurant, which regularly caters for up to 300 covers 4 times a week, making it one of the busiest and most popular catering outlets in Sheffield. Nick also manages the catering for Owlerton’s Executive Boxes and Fast Food outlets.

  • Kerrie Oxley – Executive Boxes Manager

    Having joined the company way back in 2002, Kerrie knows the stadium well, working in various areas including parading, catering, bars, but finally found her fortay managing the executive boxes. She has a always enjoyed working at Owlerton and her experience means that customers are sure to get best service possible.

  • Dan Holland - Bars Manager

    Dan has worked at Owlerton since September 2000. Dan started as a glass collector before working his way up to his current position of Bars Manager. He is in charge of all the bars at the stadium, managing the staff, making sure the bars are always stocked with the latest drinks, and coming up with new drink promotions. While in his spare time he enjoys visiting English Heritage sites with his wife and two young boys.

  • James Toner - Safety & Security Manager

    James has worked at the stadium as a member of the security team since 2010 and then went on to become Health and Safety Manager in June of 2018. James’ role is to ensure all customers, staff and visitors have a safe and enjoyable visit while at the Owlerton Stadium.

    James is a former Great Britain international player in inline hockey and still enjoys playing for his domestic team, the Pythons, of which he is a founding member of 27 years. He also owns a border collie (Lou), who he enjoys walking long distances. He has a wife and two young children which keep him busy most of his time.

  • Chris Yale - Maintenance Manager

    Chris has worked at the stadium since 2003, starting as a parader before moving on to various roles in the company until finally landing in the maintenance department where he has learnt all about the day to day workings of the dog track.

    Chris became maintenance manager in 2015. Chris makes sure that the hare is always on the move.

    When he isn’t working Chris likes to spend time with his daughters and girlfriend, carrying out DIY around his home. Any spare time is usually spent cycling or in the gym.

  • Richard Munton - Racing Manager

    Richard returned to Owlerton in late 2018, having previously worked at the stadium from 2009 to 2016. Richard has vast experience starting in the greyhound industry at Derby Greyhound Stadium in 1986. He has had spells at Nottingham, Doncaster and Swindon stadia.

    Richard’s job entails grading the dogs for each race and judging the races.

    In his spare time Richard likes to play golf, and is a regular member of the local pool team.

  • Nikki Lucas - Restaurant Manager

    Nikki started working at Owlerton in October 2018, she has been working in hospitality since she was 14 and has over 20 years’ experience in the catering & hospitality industry.

    In Nikki’s spare time she enjoys rambling in the Peak district or is at home cooking.
