Greyhounds make way for listeners for National Dog Week

National Dog Week is set to be celebrated in somewhat unorthodox fashion at Owlerton Stadium in a few days.

Sheffield’s greyhound stadium is teaming up with Hallam FM to stage a race with a difference.

This Friday, September 25, teams of listeners representing radio station DJs will take to the track and battle it out for glory.

The overall winners of the ‘4 Legged Race’ will receive £600 in prize money.

Every team that enters - there are five teams of three people – will also enjoy a VIP night with the presenters in the stadium’s Star Sports Bar.

Claire Windsor, Owlerton Stadium marketing manager, said: "We’re expecting this event to create huge interest and it’s a great way to mark National Dog Week."

People can enter via the Hallam FM website –

www.hallamfm.co.uk and select which DJ they’d like to run for.

National Dog Week starts today (Monday, September 21).

Admission to the stadium on the night is £5 which includes drink and racecard.
