About Owlerton Stadium
Owlerton Stadium was originally built in Sheffield in 1929. National Greyhound Racing Club (N.G.R.C)
racing was introduced in 1932. Today the Stadium hosts some 260 greyhound racing meetings every
year which comprise of some 150 evening meetings and 100 matinees for the Bookmakers Afternoon
Greyhound Service (B.A.G.S.) The B.A.G.S. Meetings are broadcast to all Britain's 8000 Betting
Shops and many Countries overseas
Today after becoming part of the Sheffield based
A & S Leisure Group in 1991 it has had a
£3,000,000 refurbishment and enjoys over 300,000 visits a year ranking sixth in size of the
Country's 30 N.G.R.C. Greyhound tracks.

Stock Car Racing
Formula one stock car racing takes place at Sheffield Owlerton Stadium, one of the UK's best appointed sports stadiums. As one of the tightest tracks, Owlerton offers great spectator action at all the meetings, as well as great offers in it's bars and restaurants. This exciting sport takes place over the bank holiday period.
Speedway
Speedway Racing has been held at Owlerton Stadium since the stadium was built. The Sheffield Tigers premier league winning speedway team roar every Thursday evening from April to October with tapes up at 7.45pm. Speedway at Owlerton is Still one of Sheffields great family sports it is a particular favourite with the youngsters.
